Day - 14, Muir Woods

On our way to San Francisco we would visit Muir Woods, a nice grove of Redwoods in Marin County.

The trees can get live to be ancient.  This one was over 1900 years old.

Its a small grove, but a delightful place to take a walk.

I like the way the sun dapples on the clover.

Very green.  The ferns thrive in the shadow of the giants.

Beautiful!

Such little leaves on such a big tree.

Coastal Redwoods are the tallest trees in the world.   The tallest ones are near the north coast of California, a few hundred miles away.

These are still impressively tall.

Horse tail in a shaft of light.

Great final taste of nature in California.

We stopped to take a peak at the Golden Gate Bridge from the Marin Highlands.

The road through was closed for construction so we headed over the bridge into San Francisco.

That night we met friends Nicole and Ian for dinner at a nice San Francisco restaurant.
